Losing A Friend
On the evening of Friday August 30th, 2013, Benson did not come home for dinner (nummies). In mid afternoon of that day, I had “felt” something was not right.
Benson was raised by us from a kitten, and we understood all of her many manifestations, perhaps nine! Benson a her you say? long story.
Only now, are we understanding the energy Benson brought into our home and lives. A solidifying force in a world of madness, a dose of sanity. The ancient Khemets revered cats for a reason, a reason that I do not totally yet understand, but that I am closer to understanding now she’s gone.
I already miss watching her “batting” at the butterflies etc. or, while working outdoors, seemingly appearing out of nowhere, to come and rub against me when I was feeling a bit melancholy.
I spot many Coyote tracks around our home, and there apparently has been sightings of a Bobcat. We understand the dangers around us, but Benson was not to be kept locked up inside of a home. The high grass and the forest were her playground, and we would like to think that her short, one and a half year life, was as good as it gets, for a cat.
I would like that this be considered as a memorial to our lost friend……..Benson.
