The mobile (cell) phone is a remarkable piece of engineering. But look inside. There’s blood in this machine. There’s blood in this device because your mobile contains tiny electronic circuits, and they couldn’t work without mineral called COLTAN. It’s mined in the eastern Congo. It’s not just mobile phones, it is almost everything electronic. You see coltan is the mineral source of the natural element TANTALUM. This element is used in the making of very low leakage capacitors commonly known as tantalum capacitors. They are everywhere and not only because of their low leakage but also because of their smaller size when compared to other polarized capacitors such as electrolytics. The title of the above article should really say – their’s blood in your electronics but even that would be wrong because there really isn’t any blood in any electronics. Just like guns and knives do not kill people. No, IT IS PEOPLE WHO KILL PEOPLE. You must work to alter a killers behaviour, his mind or put him in jail of course. If you take away his weapons he will just make or get some more. What we should really be concerned about is the PROSECUTION OF AGRESSORS AND WAR CRIMINALS.
I ask people constantly where they think their spent dollar goes. I always get an “I don’t care” answer! Sad, so, so sad!
I’ll keep asking them though, and reminding them that all those wars they say are so terrible, are funded by our wants!

This picture is misrepresentative of the Congo country. It looks like Congo is the whole Africa continent ! But it’s not. The bloody part is on the arab and Niger/Mali countrys…
It’s on the whole world…this is just an obvious tip of the problem.
